Esta es la última semana de Sala Montjuïc 2009, el cine perfecto al aire libre. Durante el último mes se han presentado películas en una pantalla gigante en Montjuïc. Cada lunes miércoles y viernes se enseña una película de diferentes géneros en versión original. Todos los asistentes se acomodan en el césped y pueden alquilar una tumbona o llevar sillas propias. Antes del comienzo de la película hay música en vivo también. El espectáculo comienza a las 20:30 horas y vale 5 euros, se puede llegar a Montjuïc con un bus especial para el evento que se coge desde Plaza Espanya.

Movies in Montjuïc!

This is the last week of Sala Montjuïc 2009, the perfect open air movie theater. During the last month there have been movie showings on a giant screen on top of Montjuïc. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday movies from all types of different genres are shown in their original version. All those who assist take their place on the grassy area and can even rent a chair o bring one from home. Before the movie begins there is also live music playing. The show begins at 8:30 p.m. and costs 5 euros, with a special bus for the event that can be taken from Plaza Espanya.

This Sunday, July 26, there will be a tribute to Michael Jackson along La Rambla at 5:00 p.m. The very original tribute will consist of participants doing the legendary Moonwalk from Colon all the way to Plaza Catalunya. The event is being organized by one of MelonDistrict’s partners, Complot. Anyone wishing to participate must arrive in front of the Colon statue at 5:00 p.m. Complot encourages participants to also wear a white glove. Un Tributo al Rey del Pop

Este Domingo, 26 de Julio, habrá un tributo a Michael Jackson por La Rambla a las 17:00 hrs. El homenaje a Michael Jackson consistirá de una marcha de Colón a Plaza Catalunya al ritmo del legendario Moonwalk. El evento se esta organizando por una de nuestras escuelas colaboradoras, Complot. Quien deseé participar tiene que presentarse frente al monumento de Colón a las 17:00 hrs. Complot anima a todos los participantes a ir con un guante blanco. Después del éxito de las primeras jornadas de puertas abiertas, MelonDistrict Marina ha extendido los días en los cuales se ofrecen visitas por la residencia. Tendremos jornadas de puertas abiertas todas las mañanas de lunes a jueves a partir de las 10:00 hrs hasta las 14:00 hrs. Los viernes las jornadas de puertas abiertas seguirán siendo de las 10:00 hrs a las 19:00 hrs, y los sábados de las 10:00 hrs a las 18:00 hrs. MelonDistrict Extends its Open House Event!

After the success of the first open house events, MelonDistrict Marina has extended the days in which it offers tours of the residence hall. MelonDistrict will offer tours every morning Monday to Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The tours on Fridays will continue to be from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturdays we will offer tours from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. In order to attend one of these open house events it is necessary that you call MelonDistrict and set up an appointment and a member of the MelonDistrict team will be waiting for you to take the tour. We look forward to seeing you at the new MelonDistrict Marina that open on September 1st.

The next stop on Madonna’s Sticky and Sweet Tour is here in Barcelona. On Tuesday, July 21, Madonna will perform at the Estadi Olimpic Lluís Companys. The queen of pop has been touring since August of 2008 to excited crowds all over Europe, South America and the United States. Her special guest will be the highly acclaimed DJ Paul Oakenfold who will surely make her performance even more memorable. The Sticky and Sweet Tour is sure to impress fans and MelonDistrict hopes that all the concert goers have a great time!

La Reina del Pop viene a Barcelona!

La siguiente parada en la gira Sticky and Sweet Tour de Madonna es aquí en Barcelona. Este martes, 21 de julio, Madonna se presentará en el Estadi Olimpic Lluís Companys. La reina del pop ha estado de gira desde agosto del 2008 por toda Europa, Sur America y los Estados Unidos. El artista invitado de su gira por Europa será el famoso Paul Oakenfold quien seguramente hará su espectáculo más memorable. La gira Sticky and Sweet seguramente impresionará admiradores y MelonDistrict espera que todos los que asistan el espectáculo lo disfruten!

The city of Barcelona is creating the largest public wifi system in the country. There are already 170 wifi points installed throughout the city, by the end of the year there will be 300 wifi points, and at the finalization of the project in 2010 there will be 500 wifi points. The wifi points will be distributed throughout all the districts of the city in public areas such as libraries, museums, sporting arenas, and parks. The radius of the signal will be 20 to 50 meters in enclosed areas and 100 to 150 meters in open areas. The system will have a filter to block pornographic pages, gaming pages, chats, and pages where users can download files, however social networking pages such as Facebook and Tuenti will be allowed. There will be various wifi points close to both MelonDistrict Marina and MelonDistrict Poble Sec.

El Ayuntamiento de Barcelona esta poniendo en función la red wifi publica más grande del país. Ya hay 170 puntos de wifi por la ciudad, para el fin del año habrá 300 puntos y para la terminación del proyecto en el 2010 habrá 500 puntos de wifi. Los puntos de wifi serán situados por todos los distritos de Barcelona en áreas públicas como bibliotecas, museos, centros deportivos, y parques. La radio de los puntos de wifi será de 20 a 50 metros en áreas cerradas y de 100 a 150 metros en áreas abiertas. El sistema tendrá un filtro que restringirá paginas Web pornográficas, de juegos, chats, y de descargas de archivos pero reds sociales como Facebook y Tuenti no serán restringidas. Habrá varios puntos wifi cerca de MelonDistrict Marina y MelonDistrict Poble Sec.
