Este 2013 Barcelona será la cumbre del deporte extremo con los  X Games del 16 al 19 de mayo. Barcelona contará con las grandes figuras del skate, BMX, Rally y Moto X: Travis Pastrana, Pierre-Luc Gagnon, Marcus Gronholm o Kyle Loza en un evento espectacular que se ha consolidado como un icono de la competición deportiva extrema.

Algunos de los responsables de ESPN, empresa creadora de los X Games, han llegado a Barcelona hace unas semanas para iniciar con el montaje de una construcción que tendrá un total de 31.000m2 de instalaciones deportivas.

Una de las construcciones más complejas e impresionantes que se podrá apreciar durante los X Games Barcelona es la megaramp, una estructura de 25 metros de altura y 100 metros de longitud, que acogerá las pruebas de Skate y BMX Big Air dentro del Palau Sant Jordi (tienes que ver el video para que puedas darte cuenta de lo impresionante que quedará el Estadi Olímpic LLuis Companys cuando quede listo para la competición).

Comenzando el 10 de mayo con el Gran Premio de España de Fórmula 1, y continuando la siguiente semana con los X-Games y el Salón del Automóvil, convertirá a Barcelona en la indiscutible protagonista del panorama deportivo internacional.

This 2013 Barcelona will be top for the extreme sports as the X Games wich will be held from 16 to 19 May. Responsible staff from ESPN, the creator of the X Games, has arrived in Barcelona few weeks ago to start the assembly of a building that will have a total of 31.000m2 sports facilities.

One of the most complex and impressive buildings that will be seen during the X Games Barcelona will be a MegaRamp, an structure 25 meters high and 100 meters long, which will host the Skate and BMX Big Air competitions in the Palau Sant Jordi. Melon District es patrocinador de un equipo de fútbol sala conformado por residentes, quienes han entrado a un torneo de liga que se lleva a cabo los sábados por las tardes.
Esta la liga es organizada por el grupo “deportis”, y comenzó en el mes de Octubre 2012.

Al día de hoy, un mes de que termine la liga, estamos contentos de anunciar que el equipo de Melon District se encuentra en tercer lugar, y a un solo punto de diferencia con el primer y segundo lugar.

El jugador estrella del equipo o “el jugón” como lo llaman en deportis, es Nacho Rodríguez quién ha ganado en varias ocasiones el pichichi por ser uno de los mejores jugadores de la liga.

Melon District is sponsoring a football team integrated by residents who have registered in a league tournament which takes place Saturdays afternoon. This league is organized by the group “deportis”, and it started in the month of October 2012.

Today, one month before the end of the league, we are happy to announce that the Melon District team is in third place and they are just one point below the first and second place.

The team’s best player is Nacho Rodriguez who has won several times the title of the top scorer of the match.

El pasado sábado 6 de Octubre se llevó a cabo la primera edición de una clase magistral de yoga al aire libre en el Arco del Triunfo de Barcelona. La organización de Free Yoga Barcelona logró reunir a más de 1,000 personas interesadas en practicar esta disciplina.

Para asistir no era necesario tener experiencia previa, ya que se la clase además de ser impartida por la profesora Lauren Imparato, tuvo la colaboración de otros profesores voluntarios de yoga que orientaban a todos los participantes para poder realizar los ejercicios de acuerdo a su nivel.

Como Melon District era una empresa colaboradora del evento, no podía faltar la participación de nuestro equipo.

A successful 1st edition of Free Yoga Barcelona

Last Saturday 6th October, it was held the first edition of an outdoor master yoga class at the Arc de Triomphe of Barcelona. The organization of Free Yoga Barcelona succeeded gathering more than 1,000 people who were interested in practicing this discipline.

To assist to this event it wasn’t necessary to have previous experience, as the class was given by the Professor Lauren Imparato while other experienced and volunteers professors guided the participants to do the exercises according to their level.

Melon District was part of their partners so it couldn’t missed the participation of our team.
