Melon District, a company based in Barcelona that specializes in accommodation for Spanish and international students, will open a new residence hall with 191 rooms in La Défense, a modern neighborhood in the western part of Paris.

Melon District, the Spanish student residences company, is to take part in the 2012 Barcelona Education Show ("Saló de l’Ensenyament") from 21-25 March at the Fira de Barcelona trade fair site.
With the aim of building closer links with the Catalan market, Melon District is taking part in the Barcelona Education Show for the first time, at the Fira de Barcelona trade fair site from 21-25 March.

Melon District, the Spanish student accommodation company, is to attend MIPIM 2012, taking place from 6-9 March in Cannes, to present its expansion plan in Europe, in particular in Spain, France and Italy.

Today Melon District is presenting the biggest residence for students, teachers and researchers in Barcelona, with some 500 rooms. 
"It’s an honour for us to be in a position today to show you the model we’ve developed, which aims to give students the balance between privacy and social life they desire, together with a host of top-quality services", stated Fabien Mollet-Viéville, the Managing Director of Melon District.

The Mayor of Barcelona, Jordi Hereu, today inaugurated Melon District Marina. This is the largest residence in the city and Melon District’s second in Barcelona. The 22@ Barcelona district, where the residence is situated, is cementing its status as the city’s third biggest university campus, home to over 25,000 students and researchers.

Every year 3,100 students from the Balearic Islands choose Barcelona as the place to pursue their studies.

Every year 4,500 students from Tarragona choose Barcelona as the place to pursue their studies.

Every year 1,050 students from Aragon choose Barcelona as the place to pursue their studies.

Every year 1,050 students from the Autonomous Community of Valencia choose Barcelona as the place to pursue their studies.

Melon District Marina is set to open in September and will have 500 rooms 
The residence is Melon District’s second in Barcelona, after its other building on Avinguda Paral•lel.
This September Melon District, the student accommodation specialist, will inaugurate the largest student residence in Barcelona, in Poble Nou’s 22@ district.
